Stan’s approach challenges leaders to deepen self-awareness, self-regulation and self-responsibility in pursuit of personal and organizational progress.  He formulated those values through his study with Master Hidy Ochiai, one of the world’s foremost martial artists and teacher of human development.  Stan first began his study of Washin-Ryu Karate Do with Master Ochiai in 1984 and currently holds the rank of 5th degree black belt.

In addition to his study of karate, Stan’s thinking on leadership has been strongly shaped by his professional experience in mental health and organizational development.  In these disciplines, he has deepened his application of the principles and values gained through the study of Washin-Ryu Karate Do and Bowen Family Systems Theory to relationship management and leadership effectiveness in businesses and families.

In collaboration with Leadership Coaching, Inc., Stan continues exploring the applications of Systems Theory and other sciences to leadership.  Through the lens of Systems Theory, the research of pioneering psychiatrist Dr. Murray Bowen and the sciences of evolutionary biology and neuroscience, Stan brings his wealth of senior-level leadership teaching and coaching experience to companies throughout the United States.  He brings to clients his commitment to ongoing learning and self-development, combined with a dedication to the practical application of theory to real-world challenges.
